Hello,

Did anyone ever manage to resolve the problem with the clutch engaging too slow on a SMG gearbox?

From a standstill it wont release the clutch at all or really late. This also causes during diving that the gearshifts are slipping if you keep your foot on the gas.

Its been over 5 months, and a whole lot of money, 3 different BMW mechanics.

Work done:
- Clutch Slave Cylinder repaired at SMG Society
- New Clutch, Release Bearing
- Clutch fork inspected & Pivot Pin (both OK)
- New Clutch Solenoid (Clutch Valve/QPV03)
- New MAF
- RPM/Voltage checked (all Ok)
- Hydraulic Oil Pressure/Motor & Level checked (all OK)
- Wiring Checked with a voltage meter, No obvious damage or abnormal resistance between wires.
- Adaptions done with several different programs, INPA, DIS, ISTA, Also tested between my original SMG unit and a secondhand SMG Unit
- Adaptions complete without any errors, goes through the shifting process and clutch bite point successfully

Last week a new secondhand SMG Gearbox went in as a whole, Replaced Oil & Hydraulic fluid beforehand. Adaptions went successfully. But still the same issue with the clutch releasing too slow/too late. again tried between 2 different SMG Control Units (reprogrammed fully), Even tried a different Engine DME (Just incase) but the exact same issue.

Reading values like RPM sensor gearbox & car all seem Ok/no errors, Unplugging the MAF does not affect anything either (but its brand new anyway)

I'm lost at this point and don't know what to do at the moment. 3 different mechanics looked at it and noone could fix it.

Hi

Try to replace the slave with another original.

Then adapt the clutch and the gearbox.

Greetings

The clutch slave cylinder on my original gearbox looks fine. Also drove fine for 2 weeks after the repair. Then not always but sometimes would not release the clutch (and as a result also cause bad shifting).

now an entirely new gearbox is in and its showing the exact same issue with not releasing the clutch.

The clutch is brand new, same for the release bearing.

Weird thing is when you restart the car like 5 times then it will engage fine at 1k rpm again, all wires have been checked too.

Also tried with 2 different SMG control units, fully reprogrammed and teached in (successfully always). even tried a different ECU. but still no luck
